On the House side, there is a “bluedog” coalition http://www.house.gov/melancon/BlueDogs/. There are also many new Democrats representing fiscally conservative districts. During “cap and trade”, those that supported cap and trade, were taken to the woodshed back home by their constituents. Then, the Senate failed to pass it, left them hanging, and they felt betrayed.

Now, those conservative Democrats are frightened if they pass government run health care, and the Senate abandons them again, they can forget in this area re-election in 2010.

People are frightened of progress and change. Many said that “if God had wanted man to glide, he would have given him wings.” LOL

The current system is on the road to collapse. We need to change it. If we don’t get it right, then we change it again or tweak it until it facility.

People are led by what they see on TV, and for profit companies have shown them an dreadful lot.

Socialism is having a military. 50% of our tax returns is spent either on the military or interest on military debt.

Socialism is broadcast education. Equal schools regardless of ability to pay ? Communist for sure.

Socialism is having to pay taxes for a fire department. Place out your own damn fire. I own a fire extinguisher, buy your own.

Socialism is Cops. Protect your own.

Any government control that benefits the broadcast is Socialism !

How can anyone acknowledge a 1.6 trillion dollar bill that most Americans simply do not know. As a Republican, I’m not opposed to healthcare reform, as long as the American people as a total have time to digest and interpret it. There are many unreturned questions such as: Is it worth leave-taking our grandchildren in debt? Can it wait until the depression is over? What if it fails? What if nothing really happens? What if we run out of money to fund it twenty, thirty years down the line and our children and grandchildren have their taxes raised considerably. As a President proposing a bill that will undoubtedly effect everyone in America, a apparent and concise explanation should be offered. With Liberals and Conservatives translating this bill many different ways, a complete, accurate description is not going to be availabe to the American People. Town Hall meetings are not getting the job done as particular congressmen are falsifying or mistranslating a bill that some have admittedly not even read. What America wants is to take a deep breath and be able to assess this unclear bill, the unclear costs, and the unclear funding without having the president essentially saying he‘s going to pass this bill with our without cooperation from the American people. I reckon this, not the healthcare reform itself, is what has made so many people so upset.

They’re pissed sufficient to make Congress dread for their jobs, which is the only way to make them do what Americans want.
