I am an ancient self and this notion of ancient hostile to young is completely incorrect. All generations have their idiots, and young or ancient an idiot is an idiot.
Thank God you are getting your critical thinking skills back, I was sweet particular that our education system had failed miserably. How else can we clarify the rise of Limbaugh, Palin and Beck? And face it, voter turnout among the young has been miserable. If young folks hadn’t gotten bone idle, Bush would never have been elected. Us oldsters remember Reagan, and he was no Republican God, and really was very mediocre as presidents go. The Reagan tradition is nothing to be proud of. Excellent to see that thinking is coming back in style.
Ancient people have their plot, it is Medicare. If young people are smart they will fight just as hard as we did back in the sixties to get decent health care. Right wingers are using the lie of Medicare cuts to scare the elderly, that is what you are seeing. Republicans know that we fought hard for medicare and it is the simplest way to get us ancient people out in the streets.
Don’t blame ancient people. We grew up with Walter Cronkite and the fairness doctrine. It is hard for many of us to know how the likes of Limbaugh and Beck can be allowed on the airwaves if everything they say is a lie. Some of us know it, but many do not, and they reckon there must be some grain of truth to their rants.

well let me clarify to you how the real world facility. Starting with economics and your (and my) so called tax break. Raising taxes on companies, businesses, power (electric) providers, etc., taxes everyone that uses any of their products. Do you reckon businesses and corporations are just gonna take the hit and not pass it on to the consumer? I’m sure the stock holders ( who often are you and me with our 401k’s and deferred comp retirement packages) would like seeing their stocks drop like a rock. When the power plants that use coal are hit with all kinds of fees, do you reckon they are just gonna take the loss in profits? No. they pass it on to the consumer in increased energy costs. Oh thats you and me by the way who are paying that tax! When a business owner’s taxes go up and it is no longer profitable for him to use 50 people so he cuts his workforce back to 45, who ends up paying the unemployment. The taxpayers. So it does not matter who the Federal or state government take the money directly from, it comes out of all of our pockets.
