I used to use Mega Health insurance. They in the end only cover huge hospital stays, but in my early 20′s, that’s all I really needed and they were cheap. No Dr. visits covered though.

There are many sound companies that offer graduate student health insurance plans for very cheap (under $100 a month).

Just be sure and choose a sound company like a United Healthcare, Humana, Blue Cross, Aetna, etc. and stay away from companies with limited benefit plans like Mega Life.

Here is some more information on how to find cheap graduate student health insurance:

    First question yourself…

Are you looking for blanket coverage? (RX and Office visits)
or Are you looking for specific coverage? (catastrophic, accidents, serious illness)

If you are a self who rarely or never gets sick, consider customizable plans. You can select the benefits that are vital to you and not have to pay for benefits that you will never use.

Vital: Always review the medically de rigueur claus of the contract before you penetrate into it.
