Coroner: Man killed mother-in-law, himself
An 84-year-old Montrose woman died of asphyxiation, a result of smothering, and her 61-year-old son-in-law shot himself in the head, the Montrose County Coroner’s Office said Monday. Jeanne L. Mennell’s death has been ruled homicide, while the death of her son-in-law, Mark A. Koeman, has been ruled suicide, the coroner’s office said.
