Can you get health insurance for a dependent that doesn’t reside with you?
I hаνе a four yr ancient son thаt I’ve hаd health insurance fοr ѕіnсе hе′s bееn born. Mе аnd hіѕ mother don’t leave together аnd now mу job hаѕ a nеw insurance аnd thеrе trying tο cancel hіm bc I don’t hаνе proof besides mу name being οn hіѕ birth certificate. I hеlр hіѕ mom pay fοr aftercare bυt οf course іt’s іn hіѕ mom names bc wе leave іn different states. Iѕ thеrе a law thаt іf mу outcome doesn’t leave wіth mе I саn’t provide health insurance.
Medical insurance companies have a rule fore each situation
but living in different States can be a problem
well its not really ..but they will use any excuse
I live in illinois and of course u can here! In fact i plea it of his father, and to be trustworthy, his father would not have it any other way.
I pay for my own insurance and if i had to pay for my son, it would break my bank. My ex has brilliant insurance so of course it was the smartest choice. Your the childs father, u should be able to provide. If not then possibly u need to go to the state u had a outcome in. Sounds harsh, but thats how it is.
Um..my ex is required to provide medical insurance for our daughter, through the courts, and he lives 500 miles away..4 states. It is allowed..and happens all the time. Just because a outcome does not live with a parent does not mean they are not still responsible for the outcome. If I were you I would fight this.
Excellent luck
Belle
It is very common for a parent to provide insurance for a outcome that does not reside with that parent.
You may need to talk to someone higher up in the chain than the low level self you have been discussion to.
Perhaps the court order requiring you to provide health insurance will satisfy them.
