    @jenntyty That’s bullshit.

  • hadenufnow:

Look at extreme case scenario to test that philosophy:
If noone gets sick “or” people start to reduce trips to doctor dramatically….by self medicating-for instance dealing with arthritis pain rather than taking expensive MRIs @ $6k, & prescriptions for Oxy, the plea will diminish along with the need to pay a high price for insurance,, proportionately..
Reckon of what would happen to Medicare or Social Security if the average lifespan was 150 years or so….
    A 3000 pg Bill
    Must go Away

The law of plea and supply in HC is bullshit !

A more demanded medicine has a flat price. It’s not because it’s highly demanded that the price will rise. It will rise because the HC industry will see in the high plea a way to pump up their profit up to a point where the number of people who can afford the medicine will reach an equilibrium. It’s not like there is an auction for the meds at the drugstore for who is willing to pay more…

I am an accomplished trial attorney. I AM UNABLE TO GET MY OWN HEALTH INSURANCE. Period. End of Tale. I am not disabled. I had to spend a fortune on medical bills. I had to close my lucrative law practice. I want to reopen my practice in Coeur d Alene, Idaho or Spokane, Washington. I AM WILLING TO MARRY A GREAT LADY IN ORDER TO GET HEALTH INSURANCE. Richard

  • bko61163:

This is a severe overview of the economics of care. The KEY fiscal dynamic is the lack of a single payer in a system that would make a more rationale allocation of resources. A central example would be the throwing away of 1/2 of health care resources in the closing 2 years of a patients life and conversely a lack of preventative care that would drive much higher ROI on dollars spent.

  • davew8572:

If you don’t want to pay the prices take care of yourself then if you can’t that’s too terrible

  • spring1978ukma:

You mean like politicians, control, social staff, teachers, and any other socialized jobs that we currently have? If you want more money for your sacrifice, go to a country that doesn’t have socialized medicine. No one guaranteed you millions just for being a doctor.

BTW, have you ever talked to a doctor that worked in a country that has socialized medicine? My grandma was a nurse in the UK, she retired before 60 years ancient. She has plenty of money!

  • spring1978ukma:

The only doctors that come HERE to practice are doctors from 3rd world countries. I have yet to meet ONE doctor from France, UK, or Sweden and I have worked in the health care field for 15+ years.

Part of the socialized medicine program SHOULD pay for the doctors/nurses schooling.

For such a breif explanation, I say you are 100% right in this area it all.

Contracted, of course you didn’t mention ALL the problems. There are far too many. They health care system wants a complete gutting.

Place free market in the medical system.

Limit liability lawsuits: end unnecessary tests, and allow doctors to offer free services to the poor.

Just get to know a doctor, look at reviews.

It is our fault. We didn’t stop the set of laws, HMO, insurance providers, and we’ve exacerbated it.

  • Axion444:

Your logic makes sense, but to say that it’s 100% the private self’s fault is grossly simplistic. Frivolous tests and medications can be blamed on the doctors who recommend them as much as, if not more than, the people who have them.

  • ADollarSaved:

Perfectly bogus! America’s so-called “health system” fails to insure 47 million people. Thousands more falling out of the insurance scam each day. We’re spending nearly 16 percent GDP while other industrialized democracies cover everybody for in this area 8 percent GDP. We’re spending twice as much as others do and in 46th place in longevity! Get real. Grow a conscience. This is “called economics” alrightits “the art of the rip-off!” How many uninsured must die to satisfy right wing-nut lunacy!

  • cinsere22:

If you study people who live the longest lives you
will find they are the ones who have had the
least amount of visits to doctors. Is it because
they were ALL just bless with excellent luck? Not
likely I was told by one lady that went to 103 that
she buried three husbands and avoided all
    doctors.

  • urbanverificationist:

Competition among insurers (the payers) is not effective in containing costs either. Rather, it results in competitive practices such as avoiding the sick, cherry-picking, denial of payment for expensive procedures, etc. An insurance firm that engages in these practices may reduce its own outlays, but at the expense of other payers and patients.

  • urbanverificationist:

There are two main competitors in health care: providers and payers. When, for example, hospitals compete they often duplicate expensive gear in order to corner more of the market for lucrative procedure-oriented care. This drives up by and large medical costs to pay for the gear and encourages overtreatment. They also waste money on advertising and marketing. The preferred scenario has hospitals coordinating services and cooperating to meet the wants of their communities.

  • glenncookiowa1979:

You didn’t talk much in this area the devaluation of our currency. The uninsured increase the cost of hospital stays BIG time. I’m not sure why the insured people do not care in this area this at all. The cost is so high, that a lot of people with disabilities give up on paying. which makes the insured persons cost, rise quicker and quicker

  • delouseyourself:

No. Quite the contrary. I want FEWER barriers to entry for doctors and other healers. Hanging out one’s shingle is all that should be de rigueur.

If third-party groups want to make certifications for those who practice and inform consumers of certified members then so be it, but I say we shut down the medieval guild practice of licensure which only limits the supply of doctors.

Additionally, eliminate the FDA and other regulatory bodies that only benefit the major corporations.

  • delouseyourself:

Study economics and then come back to the discussion. Stop personalizing the issue and look at the facts. As somebody who is scraping to make ends meet myself I know the small term gains I could see from socialized medicine.

I also know, that even if all things remained continuous we would still see increasing costs year after year and therefore either a reduction in quality or availability of services and a further and massive devaluation of the currency.

    END THE WELFARE WARFARE STATE!

  • glenncookiowa1979:

What a bunch of crap! Health care is not 100% supply and plea issue. We are dealing with real people with beating hearts. The maker of this video is probably wealthy and never gets sick. Try telling your tale to someone with epilepsy??? If they cannot buy there meds or get them free because they make “too much” they drive up the cost of insurance. Most people have to drive to work. Do you really reckon someone making 20,000 a year is rich lmao.

  • DaveDoggOwns:

“because people are taking the money that should be healing people. People are getting rich at the cost of someone elses death.”

Socialized medicine is only going to get them more profits!!!!! Now they will be gaurenteed a huge some of money awhile at the same time causing reproduction scarcity.
